Richard E. Sommer
Richard (Dick) Sommer, born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate education graduating with a BA in 1957. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1960. He is a member of the Oneida-Vilas-Forest County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court, including the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
He has previously served on the Board of Governors of the Wisconsin State Bar. He has served on the Wisconsin Bar’s Executive Committee and has served as President of the Wisconsin State Bar from 1979-1980.
He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, and the Insurance Trial Counsel of Wisconsin, Inc.
Dick focuses his practice on the litigation aspects of various areas of the law including: professional malpractice, personal injury, products liability, contractual and business litigation, environmental and insurance law, financial litigation, real estate – residential and commercial litigation, and workers compensation.
